<h2>Clayton Act Overview</h2><p>The Clayton Act supplements the Sherman Act by addressing specific anticompetitive practices. Section 7 prohibits mergers and acquisitions that may substantially lessen competition. Section 3 prohibits tying arrangements and exclusive dealing contracts that substantially lessen competition. Section 4 provides a private right of action for treble damages.</p><h2>Merger Review</h2><p>The DOJ and FTC review proposed mergers under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act. If a merger is challenged, the government seeks a preliminary injunction in federal court. Private parties can also challenge consummated mergers under Section 7.</p>
